We begin by getting to know one another. Kathy Howard Portrait is built on the foundation of trust and connection, allowing you to feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. During your pre-session consultation, we’ll discuss your vision, inspirations, and what you hope to achieve with your portraits. We’ll also offer guidance on wardrobe and styling, ensuring your final images reflect your personality and complement your natural beauty.
02. The Portrait Session
On the day of your session, you’ll be greeted by our warm and friendly team. Together, we’ll create a safe and supportive environment in our private studio, where you can let go of any inhibitions and embrace your individuality. Kathy will expertly guide you through poses that accentuate your natural beauty, capturing authentic and intimate images that truly reflect your essence. Throughout the experience, laughter and inspiration combine to create a sense of empowerment that transcends the camera – unveiling the real, confident you.

Once your portraits are ready, we’ll invite you back for a reveal and ordering appointment. You’ll be presented with a collection of stunning images celebrating your unique beauty, providing you with the opportunity to invest in heirloom-quality prints, albums, or wall art to treasure for a lifetime. Frequently Asked Questions
YES! Planning your gorgeous portrait session is half the fun. We will meet in person at least once before your session, and I will offer helpful suggestions on wardrobe & how to prepare for your day. I have studied and learned the most flattering poses and angles for every body type, so you do not need to know how to model. Just show up to have an amazing day and know that nerves are a GOOD thing!
The ideal amount of time would be at least 8 weeks, giving us plenty of time to plan & photograph your session, as well as order and deliver your print products. I can work with less time, call me and we can discuss your options.
Here’s a tip ladies -wardrobe is key!! With the proper wardrobe, you are giving your photographer the ability to pose you any way they would like. I am well studied in angles & know the best poses to accentuate your favorite features. You will always look as good as you look in real life, if not better!
I often hear women say that they aren’t photogenic or ‘good in front of the camera’. The thing is, it isn’t your job to be ‘good in front of the camera’ when you come to me for a photo shoot. It is my job to guide you and pose you through your entire photo shoot. I will show you that you ARE photogenic and that you are perfect just the way you are today.
Every image you see will be professionally retouched to enhance your beauty. I will not change your shape or size, but will make you look your best without changing who you are.
A big part of my work is to reveal what you may not see in yourself, a thrill for both of us, I promise!
